Lab Scenario : 009 (Who dare to take challenge – 2:30 Hrs.)

Lab 009 :

Task -1 Build the server with RHEL 6.4 Operating System as below specification:

Host name     : lab01.linuxguru.com
IP Address    : 172.16.1.10 (static IP)
OS Disk       : 8 GB 
Volume Group  : rootvg
File systems:
/ (root) - 2 GB
/var     - 1 GB
/tmp     - 500 MB
/home    - 500 MB
/usr     - 3 GB
SWAP     - 500 MB

Task:2 

Add Disk 02 - 2 GB
Add Disk 03 - 2 GB

Create following standard/extended partition Disk 02:
/std01    -  100 MB
/std02    -  100 MB
/std03    -  100 MB
*std04    -  EXT
/std05    -  100 MB
/std06    -  100 MB

Create following LVM partitions on Disk 03:
VG Name - appvg
appvol01  /app01  100 MB
appvol02  /app02  100 MB
appvol03  /app03  500 MB

Increase /app02 from 100 MB to 500 MB
Decrease /app03 from 500 MB to 200 MB

Task:3 

Create following Groups & Users:

Group  : dba
Users  : ora01,ora02 & ora03

Group  : www
Users  : web01,web02 & web03

Change Ownership: 
/std01 ->  ora01:dba
/std02 ->  ora01:dba
/std03 ->  ora02:dba
/std05 ->  ora02:dba
/std06 ->  ora03:dba
/std07 ->  ora03:dba
/app01 ->  web01:www
/app02 ->  web02:www
/app03 ->  web03:www
Configure SetGID on /std01, /std02, /app01 and /app02
Create Stickybit on /app03

Task:4

Setup YUM Server to install packages

Install NFS  packages

export /std01 read only to every one

export /std02  read/write to every one

export /web01 read/write to IP  – “172.16.1.11”

Task:5

Configure NTP server & SYNC Time from below servers:

pool.ntp.org

Task:6

Configure DNS server for forward zone & reverse zone for domain < linuxguru.com >

Task:7

Configure DHCP server to lease IP range “172.16.1.11 – 172.16.1.20 ”

 

Task -8  Build the 2nd server with RHEL 6.4 Operating System as below specification:

Host name     : lab02.linuxguru.com
IP Address    : 172.16.1.11 (DHCP from your master)
OS Disk       : 8 GB 
Volume Group  : rootvg
File systems:
/ (root) - 2 GB
/var     - 1 GB
/tmp     - 500 MB
/home    - 500 MB
/usr     - 3 GB
SWAP     - 500 MB

Mount NFS file systems form 172.16.1.10:
172.16.1.10:/std01   as /std01_nfs
172.16.1.10:/std02   as /std02_nfs
172.16.1.10:/web01   as /web01_nfs
& 
Validate your DNS and DHCP

Note: 
All configuration should stay after reboot.

& Don't delete this setup.
